About Tia
Tia Bowman is a visual artist known for her large-scale abstract floral, often 3D paintings that combine bold color, rich texture, and a sensual visual language. Her florals blur the line between feminine sensuality and creative expression. Tia’s art encompasses all her former professional careers as a fashion designer, a florist and interior designer.
Based on Shelter Island, NY, Tia is an active member of the NAWA (National Association of Women’s Artists), secretary of ARTSI (Artists of Shelter Island) and SIAC communities. She opens her studio annually to local collectors and participates in island exhibitions, sharing her work within the vibrant artists’ community.

She holds a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and an A.A.S. in Accessories Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her creative path began with award-winning hand-sculpted pottery and continued through advanced study in jewelry and metalsmithing at Moore College of Art & Design.
Tia spent 16 years as a floral designer before moving into fashion, where she designed women’s handbags, shoes, and hardware. Her work ranged from New York City runway shows to leading design for multi-million dollar brands.
